Rev. Dr. Keck Mowry

Rev. Dr. Mowry, our Senior Pastor as of July 1, 2015, believes his calling here at FUMC Palatine is to make clear the Gospel of Jesus Christ and lead people and the church into that new reality and state of being which Jesus described as the Kingdom of God. While born in Allendale, NJ, he also counts Barrington, IL and New Canaan, CT as places he grew up. Rev. Dr. Mowry has a B.A. in economics and philosophy from Vanderbilt University, an M.A. from the Divinity School at the University of Chicago, an M.Div. from Drew University School of Theology and a D.Min. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. In addition to three other pastoral appointments in the Northern Illinois Conference, Rev. Dr. Mowry has served churches in East Meadow, Tuckahoe, and New York, NY. Rev. Mowry’s mother, art therapist sister, and Baptist minister brother-in-law all reside in northern Virginia. He also has a brother working in international development who lives in Thailand.

Amongst many writings, Pastor Mowry has published a Christmas Play, “Oh Savior Where Art Thou” and a research paper “Ecosystem Theory and Boundary Leadership as applied to the Church”.
